Larry D. Koontz

Larry D. Koontz, 63, of Camp Point, Illinois, passed away at his home on March 10, 2026.

Born on July 12, 1962, in Quincy, Illinois, Larry was the son of Larry Dean Koontz and Judy Louderback. He served his country in the United States Air Force and spent his working life as a mechanic. He found great pleasure in racing his car with friends in Havana and, above all, cherished the time spent with his granddaughters.

He is survived by his daughter, Tabitha Mayfield (Shane Saxbury) of Clayton, Illinois; his granddaughters, Teagen Saxbury and Addison Davis; his stepfather, Bob Dierker; his sisters, Tammy Koontz Wellman, Melissa Saxbury, Kim Koontz, Stacey Dierker, Renee Mowen, and Judy Dierker; his brothers, Rocky Koontz and Steve Koontz; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Larry; his mother, Judy; a brother in infancy, Jimmy Dean Koontz; his nephew, Bobby Koontz; and his uncle, Merle Koontz.
