Larry Criddle Sr.
December 18, 1949— March 11, 2026
Bristolville, OH
Larry Criddle Sr. passed away on March 11, 2026, at University Hospital Geauga after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 18, 1949, in Warren, Ohio, to Robert Criddle and Gail Cribbs Criddle, he graduated from Bristol High School in 1967. Larry spent his life in Bristolville with his wife and best friend, Barbara, whom he married on June 1, 1973. Together they shared more than 52 years of companionship.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Larry worked as a pipe fitter for Local 669 for 34 years before retiring from Fire Foe, where he provided fire protection services. He took great pleasure in breeding rabbits when his children were young, serving as a 4-H advisor, working with his hands, and watching the Cleveland Guardians and occasionally the Cleveland Browns. An avid collector of M&M memorabilia, he also enjoyed observing birds from his window and sharing fond stories of helping his father pick up milk for Criddle Dairy. In his youth, he drag raced his 1970 Rallye 350.
Larry is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter Chrissy (Lee) Howard of Charleston, South Carolina, his son Larry of Bristolville, and four grandsons: Christopher (Michele) Rachkofski of Charleston, South Carolina, PFC Nicholas Rachkofski of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jordan Criddle of Bristolville, and Matthew Howard of Charleston, South Carolina. He is also survived by his beloved dog Missy, his sister Barbara (Tony) Quinn, and his brother Ron (Sue) Criddle. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Criddle, and his sister Carol Sankey.
