Larry Ballew

Larry Edward Ballew, 68, of Piketon, Ohio, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio.

Born on October 4, 1957, in Indiana, Larry was the son of Charles Edward Ballew and Margaret Jewell Steffy Ballew. On October 9, 1976, he married Bernadine Reisinger, who survives him. He is also survived by his son, Joshua E. Ballew; his daughter, Laura Paul; six grandchildren, Emily Paul, Edy Paul, Lauryn Thompson, Jeremiah Ballew, Rebekah Ballew, and Gabriella Ballew; a great-grandchild, Weston Tackett; and two sisters, Bethany Steffy and Sharon Bishop.

Larry enjoyed a long career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as Postmaster of Waverly, and later worked as a consultant for Ohio Valley Lumber. He took great pleasure in building things, tinkering with cars and electronics, and sharing practical life skills with younger generations.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, his hands-on ingenuity, and the quiet guidance he offered to his family.
