Lanny Ray Riggs

Lanny Ray Riggs passed away at the age of 66 on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on December 31, 1959, in Pasadena, Texas, he met his future wife, Debbie Smith, while they were in high school. The couple married in his early twenties and shared 44 years together.

Lanny worked for 43 years in pipeline supervision, remaining with the same line of work through various company names. A longtime member of Midway Church of Christ, he found deep satisfaction in the simple blessings of life and especially cherished time spent with his family. His greatest joy was taking his grandchildren to the beach. Those who knew him remember him as a loyal, faithful, and hardworking man who was full of personality and deeply devoted to his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Sue (Thomasson) Riggs.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Riggs; sons Kyle Riggs and wife Kimberly, and Cory Riggs; daughter Kayla Ewald and husband Ryan; brothers Danny Riggs and wife Liz, and Sammy Riggs and wife Teri; aunt Marilyn Hambrick, who was like a second mother to him; special cousins Ronnie Gray and wife Denise, and Gwenda Moser; and his beloved grandchildren, Jackson, Jace, Ava, Jake, and Grayson.
