June 21, 1947— March 4, 2026
Cedar City, UT
Lana Jean Topham Roberts passed away on March 4, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on June 21, 1947, in Cedar City, Utah, to Alma and Norma Topham, she spent an idyllic childhood in Paragonah, Utah, a place she always considered home. She proudly carried the title of “Goonah Girl” throughout her life.
In her twenties she met the love of her life, Gale Roberts, and they married on August 6, 1973. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Lana brought two sons, Allan and Jeff, into the marriage, and together she and Gale welcomed daughters Stacie and Tennile, completing their family.
Lana embraced life with enthusiasm and focus. She and Gale enjoyed trips to Fish Lake and the Grand Canyon, attended basketball games with her youngest brother and his wife, and shared many happy evenings bowling. She was an accomplished cook, loved working puzzles, and crocheted blankets for nearly every grandchild. She tried her hand at golf, cherished time at the pool, followed the Utah Jazz during the 90s and early 2000s, and never missed the National Finals Rodeo. A natural people person, she formed friendships easily, especially with restaurant servers who often paused to sit and visit with her. Over the years she worked as a school secretary, cosmetologist, cashier at Albertsons, dental hygienist, and later in the Albertsons deli.
Above all, Lana cherished her family and her faith. She held a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation and served as a missionary at the Home Storage Center in Cedar City. Her eyes would fill with tears of joy at the sight of her loved ones. She is survived by her sons Allan (Stephanie) Roberts and Jeff (Danielle) Roberts, daughters Stacie (Ryan) Peterson and Tennile (Jeramy) Manwaring, thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gale, her parents, her sister Patsy, and her grandson Tage.
