Lamercie Joseph Telcidor
January 16, 1934— February 24, 2026
Manatee County, FL
Lamercie J. Telcidor, aged 92, died on February 24, 2026 in Manatee County, Florida.
She was born on January 16, 1934 in Petit-Bourg de Port-Margot, Haiti.
Born into a family of five children, she grew up in simplicity, discipline, and the fear of God. She completed her primary education with the Sisters of Port-Margot, then persevered in her secondary studies until obtaining her Brevet.
She became a pediatric nurse in 1958 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Limbe. Trained as a nurse, she distinguished herself through rare skill and exceptional compassion, particularly with infants. Dr. Hodges often spoke of his admiration for her dexterity: where others hesitated to find a vein to administer an IV to a frail child, her hands, guided by experience and prayer, performed the precise action. She became a cornerstone of the pediatric ward, a reassuring presence, a gentle face in times of anguish.
A committed member of the Baptist Church of Limbe, and of the First Biblical Baptist Church of Palmetto; she served with faithfulness, humility and fervor.Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lucien Telcidor; her sisters, Suzette Jeannite Joseph and Sonia Joseph; her brothers, Lucien Joseph, Peter Christian Joseph and Adolphe Joseph; her son, Samuel Telcidor; her daughter, Charline Telcidor Sincere; as well as three of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Ismael Telcidor of New Jersey and Musset Joseph of Paris; her daughter, Hermione T. Francois of Manatee County, Florida; her grandchildren, Marklhey Francois, Hermendy Francois, Rodney Jr. Francois, Shaelle Telcidor, and Annabella Telcidor; and her adopted son, Mathieu Valty. She also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will deeply miss her.
After a long illness borne with patience and Christian resignation, she fell asleep in the Lord. Farewell, Manmie.Your memory remains engraved in our minds, and your testimony continues to speak in the silence of eternity.
