Magna, UT

1950-2026

LaMarr Harding, 76, passed away on March 13th, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on February 11, 1950, to William Howard Harding and LaRae Adell Christiansen Harding. LaMarr married Melanie Grace Carter Harding on December 1, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They lived in Magna and had two children.

LaMarr’s childhood was primarily spent in Magna, Utah. He graduated from Cyprus High and moved on to the University of Utah for college, where he studied electronics. Ever the eclectic, he had a wide variety of hobbies and talents. He liked to sew, and he had wonderful penmanship. He collected pens and sewing machines. He was a curious wanderer and loved to road trip around the western United States, visiting every museum, monument, and hot spring in Utah. All he needed was a cooler full of hot dogs he could cook on the exhaust manifold.

He lived a life full of service to those around him; all you had to do was ask, and he would show up. In his later years, he would take his “Grandmonsters” on weekly adventures later deemed by his grandchildren to be called “Monday Fun Day”! He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his partner, Darrin Solomon; daughter and son-in-law, Emma-Lee and Thomas Hood; grandchildren, Kaylynn, Lillianna, and Nathanael Hood; sisters and their husbands, Nanette and William Neider, and Cindy and Mori Rasmussen.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Melanie Grace Harding; son LaMarr Howard Harding II; and his parents, William and LaRae Harding.
