Lakisha Baucum

November 7, 1973 March 3, 2026

Paterson, NJ

LaKisha M. Baucum, lovingly known as “Kisha,” was born on November 7, 1973, in Neptune, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Tanya Baucum and Harry Hammond. She later made her home in Paterson, New Jersey, where she built a life centered on family, laughter, and love. A graduate of Eastside High School, she went on to earn her certification as a Medical Assistant from the Berdan Institute in Wayne. For more than twenty years, Kisha worked at Prospect Heights Care Center in Hackensack, forming deep and lasting friendships that became a second family.

Kisha was known for her honesty, quick wit, and feisty spirit. She told it like it was, never shied away from speaking her mind, and possessed a sharp tongue and ready comeback that could both amuse and disarm. Beneath that spirited exterior lay a heart full of loyalty and love for those she held dear. She cherished time with her family, especially playing spades and board games, cooking large meals to bring everyone together, talking on the phone for hours, and sharing stories and music. She particularly loved the sounds of Usher and Jadakiss.

After a courageous four-year battle with colorectal cancer, Kisha passed surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings Brice Baucum, Jeneen Cusack, Latrana Baucum, and Etoine “Corey” Baucum.

She is survived by her loving children Devante Greaves, DeAsiah Greaves, and BreAnna Fleming; her devoted lifetime partner Balvin Greaves; her brothers Darius Baucum, Rashun Baucum, Hanif Boone, and Dor’Sean Jackson; her sisters Lakeeta Luckey, Kita Boone, Dana Boone Jones, and Dore’Ann Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly. Her laughter, honesty, and vibrant presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
