LaJuan Durham, born Margaret LaJuan Boatman on January 15, 1934, in Sherman, Texas, passed away on March 7, 2026. LaJuan’s life was marked by love, kindness, and faith.

LaJuan grew up in her hometown of Sherman, where she attended Sherman High School. After graduation, LaJuan soon married and moved to Irving where she worked for the Dallas County Tax Office. After raising two children, she finished her career in the Financial Aid Office at North Lake College.

On September 2, 1955, LaJuan married Paul Harold Durham. They shared seventy years together until his passing in 2025. She is survived by her son, Ron Durham of Irving, and her daughter, Lisa Day and her husband Levi, of Haslet. LaJuan was also the proud “Grandmommie” of two granddaughters: Laura Day of Rhome, and Robyn Day of Dallas. They were the joys of her life.

LaJuan was the second eldest of six children and is survived by her sister, Rachel Gregory of Erlanger, Kentucky, and James Boatman of Kilgore, Texas. She joins her loved ones who have passed including her husband, Paul, her brothers, Edward and Ralph Boatman, and her sister, Barbara Burge.

LaJuan enjoyed many creative hobbies such as crochet, sewing, and playing the piano. She was an accomplished pianist who played by ear and a talented seamstress. Her family and friends still enjoy the hand-crafted items she made as well as the crocheted rugs that adorn many a household.

LaJuan Durham leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue through her children and grandchildren. She loved quietly through the hundred little things she did and lived her life through service to others. She will be deeply missed and remembered as a true lady who brought joy to everyone who knew her.
