She was born in Charleston, WV on December 17, 1960 daughter of the late Carshall Lee Thompson and Ruth Elizabeth (Johnson) Thompson. LaDonna was united in marriage on June 25, 1989 to her loving husband, Michael Adkins, who survives.Cherishing their memories of LaDonna are her husband, Michael, son, Daniel Adkins and wife, Ashley of Jane Lew, daughter, Vanessa Hellems and husband, Micah of Weston, 9 grandchildren, Emily Hellems, Zackary Hellems and wife, Taylor, Jacob Hellems and fiance', Channing Carson, Landon Adkins, Xander Hanshaw, Liara Adkins, Zoe Hanshaw, Zaylee Anderson, and Skylar Jones, sister, Teresa Higginbotham and husband, Russell of Spring Mills, WV, nieces and nephews, Debra, Cheryl, Rusty, Katie, Lee, Jeremy, Linda, Jimmy, and special niece, Jenny.LaDonna, a 1980 graduate of Richwood High School, was known for her warm spirit and strong work ethic. She spent several years as a nail technician in the Summersville area and finally as a cashier at Summersville Dollar Tree. Creative and skilled with her hands, she enjoyed woodworking and took pride in the projects she crafted. LaDonna loved the outdoors, finding peace in fishing trips, camping adventures, and the simple beauty of nature. She will be remembered for her kindness, her talents, and the joy she brought to those around her.At her request, Ladonna will be cremated under the compassionate care of Hardman Family Funeral Home's Onsite Crematory of Weston, WV and a Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 1: 00 p.m. located at the Pierson Chapel 1316 Whitewater Road Summersville, WV. There will be a potluck dinner in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
