Kyle Von Brizzee
May 14, 1947— March 11, 2026
Rexburg, ID
Kyle Von Brizzee, 78, of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away on March 11, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Born on May 14, 1947 to Francis and Eliza Brizzee in Rexburg, he was the youngest of five children and completed their loving family.
Kyle joined the Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam as an advanced missile and munitions specialist. He cherished his time in the service, where he traveled abroad and formed lifelong friendships. He later worked for many years in Chicago as a general construction foreman, helped build the Teton Dam, and finished his career as a civil inspector at the Idaho National Laboratory, retiring at age 58. Though he held these positions with dedication, his true passion was farming and excavating, and he found deep fulfillment in helping others.
He took special joy in spending time with his grandchildren, growing a garden with them each year. Kyle loved working with his hands and always had a project underway. He was blessed with a quick mind and a talent for learning new skills. An avid car enthusiast, he rebuilt a 1964 Corvette that became his pride and joy, often joking that he wanted to be buried in it. His first car, a 1950 Studebaker, was purchased from his brother Val for ten dollars. He delighted in teaching his grandchildren card games, especially Back Alley Bridge, creating a cherished family tradition filled with laughter, banter, and lasting memories.
Kyle is survived by his loving children, Babette (Blake) Arnold and Wendy (Mike) Underhill; grandchildren Drew Arnold, Ashlee (TK) Kite, Carlie Arnold, Broc (Natalie) Underhill, Taylor Underhill, Avery Arnold, and Beau Underhill; and great-grandchild Livingston A. Kite. On the same day Kyle passed, the family welcomed the birth of his first great-grandchild, Livingston. Though he did not have the chance to meet this newest member, his legacy of guidance, humor, and quiet strength lives on through the generations he loved so deeply.
