Gainesville, GA
Kurt Wayne Martin of Gainesville, Georgia, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away at home on March 10, 2026, at the age of 63.
Born in Silver Springs, Maryland, Kurt built a life rooted in dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He was known for his strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep belief in the promise of the American dream. Throughout his career, he worked as a mortgage banker, lender, broker, and entrepreneur, helping thousands of families achieve homeownership, many of them people he knew personally. In addition to his work in finance and real estate, he co-owned an advertising company and managed residential property rentals. He took genuine pride in creating opportunities for others and in providing stability for those he loved.
Kurt had a lifelong passion for the water and anything with an engine. Some of his happiest moments were spent boating, where he found peace, adventure, and the simple joy of time shared with family and friends. In his younger years, he was an avid go-cart racer and soccer player, and he later encouraged his children to pursue athletics and personal growth with the same enthusiasm. He believed deeply in perseverance and instilled in his family the values of hard work, determination, and confidence. Those who knew him will remember his warm and teasing sense of humor, his ability to connect through lighthearted jokes or a timely phone call, and his steady presence in the lives of those he cared about.
A man of Christian faith, Kurt approached life with strength and optimism, even in difficult times. Above all, he was devoted to his family, taking the greatest pride in the lives his children built and the values he passed on to them. His legacy endures in their perseverance, work ethic, and commitment to living fully and faithfully.
He is survived by his wife, Fatima Martin; his children, Dylan Martin (Addison) and Lauren Martin; his father, William Martin; his brother, Scott Martin (Susan); his sister, Patricia Cox; the mother of his children, Michelle Macdonald; and extended family members and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Martin.
