Kurt Grote ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Highland Park Funeral Home and Crematory on Mar. 17, 2026.Kurt William Grote passed away on March 17th, 2026, at the age of 67 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on December 22nd, 1958 in Compton, CA at St. Helen's Hospital to Lorna and Jacob Grote. Kurt received a high school diploma, and served for 25 years as an over the road truck driver.Kurt was very resilient and curious on everyone's views regardless of the topic or if he agreed. He would sit down and have a conversation on any given day on politics, football (especially his beloved Kansas City Chiefs), hockey, or playing pool. He accepted everyone as they were without judgement or contempt. While he lived a hard life being a trucker for so many years, in the end his greatest wish was to have his daughters by his side. If you were lucky enough to know him you know he was a sweet and sentimental man.Kurt is predeceased by his parents Lorna and Jacob Grote, and brothers Mark and Kip Grote.Survivors include his daughters Melissa Poole (Louis), Jessica Sloan (Kenzie), Janee Dollar (Bryan), 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his best friend and greatest companion Ki, sister Tanya Pineda (Fernando), nephews Fernando Pineda and Jason Grote as well as many more nieces and nephewsMemorial's in Kurt's name can be made to NorthCare Hospice House (Kansas City Hospice) or Rock Hill Moose Lodge 1720.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
