In Eternal Memory

Krzysztof Laszkiewicz

Oakville, ON

Krzysztof Laszkiewicz was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose greatest joy was spending time with the people he loved. Before building his life in Canada, he served as a firefighter in Poland. A man of many talents, he worked as a painter and carpenter before spending more than twenty-five years as a truck driver, a profession in which he took great pride.

Krzysztof shared a beautiful marriage of 34 years with his wife, Aneta. He possessed a playful spirit and expressed his affection through teasing, especially with those closest to him. His daughter Angelika cherished memories of the comical stories he told about his proposal to her mother, always recounting how it began with flirtatious glances across the pews at church and ended with a dramatic scene in a coffee shop. Some of her most treasured moments were the road trips they took together. On PA days he would bring her along on city routes, and during March break he would arrange Florida runs so they could visit Disney World. Those long drives became beloved adventures, and she felt immense pride watching him at work.

Krzysztof loved cars and often spoke of his dream of owning an Acura SUV, which he affectionately called his “SUVA.” He was a dedicated bargain hunter who spent days researching and comparing prices. He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: weekend mornings filled with classic Polish disco polo music while he made breakfast, stand-up comedy, dancing, chocolate ice cream sundaes with chocolate syrup and walnuts, and time spent with family. He took particular pride in his home and backyard, where his lawn was meticulously maintained at exactly the right height.

He and Aneta enjoyed road trips to small towns across Ontario, often stopping at farmers’ markets, and their regular walks along Lakeshore in downtown Oakville, which always included a stop for ice cream. Though he lived far from Poland, Krzysztof remained deeply connected to his family there, speaking almost daily with his brother Marek and regularly calling his parents Tadeusz and Genowefa. In recent years he became the voice of reason in his family, encouraging Aneta and Angelika to live gently and experience the world together. He often spoke light-heartedly of retiring in Thailand, though Aneta preferred Italy or Spain.

His passing was sudden and far too soon. The laughter, road trips, music, and love he shared will remain with his family forever.
