Krishtacharya Upadhyaya

Shri Krishtacharya Upadhyaya passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on December 16, 1943, in Kinnal, Karnataka, India, he excelled as a student of mathematics and graduated with honors in electrical engineering. He lived a simple, honest, and truthful life, always ready to help those in need. For thirty-five years he served as Chief Engineer with the State Electricity Board in India, where he developed several hydroelectric power stations that brought electricity to more than 150 villages in rural southern India.

After the passing of his wife, he moved to the United States in 2015 to live with his two daughters and their families. He remained a devout Hindu throughout his life, faithfully practicing the Madhwa philosophy. Those who knew him remember his deep commitment to honesty, discipline, and self-control.

He is survived by his two daughters. His elder daughter, Pankaja, and her family, which includes Ajit, Amrut, and Nitya. His younger daughter, Dr. Sneha, and her family, which includes Dr. Harish, Anirudh, and Anvitha.
