August 24, 1971— March 12, 2026
Lake City, PA
Kristen “Kris” R. Fuerst, 54, of Lake City, passed away on March 12, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 24, 1971, in Washington, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Dr. Nicholas and Patricia (Novosielski) Fuerst.
Kris lived his life to the fullest, guided by a deep love for the outdoors. An avid fisherman, he traveled across the United States in pursuit of new waters, spending time in West Virginia, Colorado, New York, and throughout Pennsylvania. He especially cherished fishing for Great Lakes Steelhead and was always eager to share stories from his many adventures on the water. He also enjoyed hiking and exploring nature, often walking quiet streams and wooded trails with his three beloved dogs, Skip, Bella, and Roscoe. Being outdoors brought him a profound sense of peace and joy.
Above all, Kris treasured the time spent with his wife, Tracy, his high school sweetheart. The couple, married for 22 years, shared a love for fishing and created countless memories together along the shores and streams of Erie, often staying until the sun set. His Christian faith, rooted in his Catholic upbringing, remained a steady source of guidance and comfort throughout his life.
Kris is survived by his loving wife, Tracy (Perts) Fuerst; his parents, Dr. Nicholas and Patricia Fuerst; his brothers, Matthew Fuerst (Dana) and Michael Fuerst (Julie); his nieces and nephews, Gianna, Gabriel, Mila, Elise, and Luca Fuerst; and many friends he met along the rivers, lakes, and streams during his fishing journeys.
