Konstantinos Apazidis ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Collins Funeral Home - Norwalk on Mar. 16, 2026.Kostantinos Apazidis, 82, of Norwalk, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2026 at his home. Born on July 13, 1944, in Thessaloniki, Greece, he was the son of the late Vasilios and Sofia Apazidis, also formerly of Norwalk.As a war-time baby, he brought with him the hope of a brighter future. And a brighter future it was. He excelled as a student, in particular mathematics, completing the Upper Secondary Education in Greece, a significant accomplishment at the time. From there he served with honor in the Hellenic Army rising to the rank of sergeant – and had the good fortune to serve in Rhodes. He emigrated to the United States, joining his parents and three younger siblings, in 1967. He put his skills to great use, becoming an accomplished carpenter with a wide-ranging career as a home builder, trim carpenter and commercial projects in Stamford. He was gentle in all things, yet pragmatic. He loved through his actions, always encouraging others toward calmness and fairness. Steadfast in his beliefs, and a devoted parishioner of the St George Greek Orthodox Church.He is survived by his brother Dimitrios Apazidis & his wife Diamando of Norwalk, his sister Despina Kourpouanidis of North Port, FL, 9 nieces & nephews, 13 grand-nieces & grand-nephews.In addition to his parents, he is pre-deceased by a sister, Domna Simoulidis.The wake will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00 am immediately followed by services at St George Greek Orthodox Church at 238 W Rock Rd, Norwalk, CT 06851. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
