Upper Fruitland, NM
Kirk Curtis Jones, 38, of Upper Fruitland, New Mexico, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Farmington, New Mexico. Born on January 29, 1988, in Farmington to Curtis Sr. and Edith Jones, Kirk graduated from Kirtland High School. Family was the center of his world, and the births of his six children brought him his deepest joy and greatest pride.
Kirk possessed an incredible heart and an outgoing personality. He loved making people laugh and was always ready with a joke or a story. One of his greatest gifts was making family and friends feel welcomed, valued, and loved. He had a special way of making others feel important and ensuring they knew their words truly mattered. Kirk was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially basketball and football, and found great pleasure in fishing, golfing, listening to music, dancing, and spending time with family and friends at cookouts. In his middle and high school years, he took particular delight in working on vehicles and racing his cars. Kirk took great pride in his work as a side boom operator on the pipeline. Though his career often required months away from home, he remained deeply dedicated to providing for the people he loved.
Kirk will be forever remembered for the special person he was and for the love he shared so freely with those around him. He leaves behind his sons, Theanon D. Jones and Kamerican K. Jones; his daughters, Alaina B. Jones, Auberey C. Jones, Jasmine L. Jones, and Kalani R. Jones; his parents, Curtis Sr. and Edith Jones; his brothers, Curtis T. Jones Jr. and Marcus Joe; and his sisters, Evangeline Johnson, Evelyn Benally, and Malena Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Jaiden Johnson, Dishawn Johnson, Jerrille Benally, Jerremy Benally, Tyler Jones, Rhiannon Perez, Jenielysha Benally, and Jelesia Gonzales.
