Kinlee Owens ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Shafer Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.Memorial services for Kinlee Owens, lovingly nicknamed "Stinky", 10, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Timber Creek Church in Lufkin with Pastor Jeremy Yancey officiating.Kinlee was born on April 7, 2015, in Lufkin, Texas. She left this earth on March 10, 2026, in the arms of her parents, and ran into the arms of Jesus.Kinlee was the youngest of five children and had a special aura about her from the very beginning-always full of smiles, love, and laughter. From a very early age, she had a love of music. From standing in her crib and bouncing to dancing around the room, listening to music was something she shared with her mom and dad. She knew all the popular songs and would sing along to Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B, and Taylor Swift, but she also had a love for classics like Whitney Houston, Queen, and her favorite, Michael Jackson.Kinlee never met a stranger and had a special ability to make each and every person she came across feel seen and loved. She had a personality that filled every room-a "there she is" kind of presence that people were naturally drawn to. She loved road trips, where laughter and music filled the car, and Disney was her favorite place to be. In April 2025 and again in October 2025, she was able to travel to Disney-creating memories filled with joy, wonder, and moments that her family will cherish forever.She enjoyed playing Roblox, watching YouTube videos, and spending time with her friends. Kinlee had a special group of best friends-her "besties"-who were inseparable. They laughed together, grew up together, and shared a bond that will forever carry her memory forward. She also loved spending time with her cousins, playing, laughing, and making memories that will be treasured forever. Kinlee loved deeply, and that love was returned so fully by those closest to her.One of her greatest joys was time spent with her MiMi, counting down the days until Friday when she knew she would get her special weekends.Kinlee loved going to church and had a heart for Jesus that was far beyond her years. She always insisted on being in "big church." When asked why she didn't want to go to children's church, she simply said, "Because they sing and play, and I'm here to learn about Jesus." She loved praise and worship and found so much joy in being in the presence of God. She held a special love for her church family, especially Pastor Jeremy and Ms. Janet, who meant so much to her.Kinlee was a girly girl through and through. She loved clothes, shoes, makeup, and all things pink. She had a creative spirit and a heart that loved deeply. She was funny, animated, and full of life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.In 2025, Kinlee was diagnosed with DIPG, a rare and aggressive form of childhood brain cancer. Despite everything she faced, Kinlee showed strength, courage, and resilience far beyond her years. She fought with everything she had, inspiring not only her family but an entire community who rallied behind her. Through every challenge, she continued to smile, love, and bring light into even the darkest moments.More than anything, Kinlee loved her family. She was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend. The bond she shared with her siblings was unbreakable, and her presence in their lives will forever be felt. She was deeply loved by her parents, who were honored to walk beside her every step of her journey.Kinlee's life, though far too short, was incredibly full. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and joy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she is healed, whole, and free. No longer in pain, she is dancing, laughing, and shining brighter than ever in the presence of Jesus. She will always be our Princess. She will forever be our Stink.Kinlee is survived by her parents, Quincy & Nikki Owens; siblings, Karsen, Kylynn, Brayden, and Aaliyah; maternal grandparents, Rick Zoshak of Cleveland and Pam Harper Zoshak of Diboll; paternal grandparents James and Elizabeth Owens of Kirbyville; paternal great-grandmother, Deborah Jones of Kirbyville; uncle, James Owens of Houston; aunt, Heidi Zoshak of Diboll; uncle and aunt, Chris & Tonya Owens of Beaumont; aunt, Rykki Zoshak of Diboll, uncle, Quinton Owens of Newton; aunt and uncle, Sonya and Eric Boudar of Central; and aunt, Dussine Atkinson; cousins Thor (lovingly known as Sherman), FaithLynn, Karson, Miliah, Zane, Jayceon, Kenzie, Emma, Kaisen, Haze, and Tabitha.She is also survived by her "besties" Bella, Mia, London, Joshua, Amari, and Fred; special friends and extended family, Bobby and Arlene Connor, Misty Carr, Kelly Carr along with Lani, Joey, and Sani, Chester and Meagan Pleasant and their family; Tony and Amy Decker, David and Marie Hughes, Dustin and Melissa Cook, Kathryn Henderson, Keith & Ashley Oliver, Jerry and Sandee Stone, Stacey and Cindy Davenport; Susan Looney; Dr. Glass and the staff at The Children's Clinic; Dr. Zaky and the MD Anderson Child Oncology team; as well as the Texas Children's 9th Floor PICU team.Kinlee was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Richard and Lee Zoshak, and Curtis & Patsy Harper; paternal great-grandparents, E.J. and Irene Owens, and Leo Buchanan; great-uncle, O'Dale Harper and great-aunt, Angie Glass; and numerous other loved ones.Honorary pallbearers will be Dynasty Volleyball Club, Terror Squad Football Team, All In Basketball Team, Lufkin High School Boys Football Team, Lufkin High School Boys Basketball Team, Lufkin Middle School, Lufkin Middle School Girls Volleyball Team, Brookhollow Elementary School's 5th Grade Class, Stephen F.
