Kimberly Gibson Giancola

April 15, 1957 March 6, 2026

Wickliffe, OH

It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the loss of Kimberly Gibson Giancola (Sulecki), who was born on April 15, 1957, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her close family after a long-term illness on March 6, 2026.

Kim was born in Mobile, Alabama. She spent her earliest years there and in Kingsport, Tennessee, before moving to Wickliffe, Ohio, where she built a life centered on family, creativity, and connection. She carried with her a warm Southern spirit, a love for good food, and an appreciation for the simple joys that make life meaningful. Professionally, she excelled as an executive administrative assistant in Cleveland, Ohio, for over 20 years while raising her three children.

Above all else, Kim was a devoted mother to her beloved sons: David Giancola Jr. (married to Katie Baioni), Daniel Giancola (married to Claudia Markowicz), and Jason Giancola. Her boys were her pride and joy—she loved them unconditionally with her whole heart.

Kim was an artist in every sense of the word. She found beauty in color, music, culture, and the world around her. She loved the beach and felt at peace by the water. She delighted in Southern cooking, sharing meals that brought everyone together around the table. She had a special admiration for South Korean culture and was especially fond of the group BTS, whose music brought her great joy and excitement.

Her most cherished role in life was being “Mimi” to her grandchildren: Nicholas, Grace, Stella, and Layla. Being their grandmother was her greatest accomplishment and brought her deep happiness. She treasured holiday cookie decorating, took pride in picking the perfect Christmas ornament, and organized family dinners filled with laughter, sharing her favorite songs and learning about new pop culture trends alongside her family. Every moment spent with her grandchildren was a gift she held close to her heart.

Mimi will be remembered for her creative pursuits, vibrant spirit, deep love for music, interest in geopolitics, and most of all, her unwavering love and devotion to her family—“no matter what.” Her love remains woven into every shared recipe, song played, furniture piece crafted, thoughtfully handwritten sentiment, and holiday tradition she so lovingly created.

She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.

Visitation will be held from 5-8pm, Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH.

A funeral service will begin at 10am, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the funeral home.

Burial to follow at Flint Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
