Kimberly A. King

Kimberly Ann King, née Carroll, age 63 of Elyria, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Born on August 14, 1962 in Elyria to parents Charles Carroll and Mary Carroll (Fugitt), Kim was a deeply caring person whose compassion led her into nursing. She worked for 31 years as an STNA before attending nursing school, graduating in September of 2021. She remained dedicated to her profession and found great fulfillment in helping others.

Kim had a zest for life that showed in her many passions. She loved to travel and took several cruises with her eldest son, Jeremy. She enjoyed riding on the back of motorcycles with friends and often spoke of her dream to visit Paris. Above all, she was a devoted grandmother whose grandchildren were the center of her world.

She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her ability to bring smiles to those around her. Family and friends cherished her gregarious laugh and warm smile, and many recalled how she could brighten the darkest day with her joyful presence.

Kim is survived by her children Jeremiah (Jessica) Smith, Christopher Smith, Michael Smith, Brianna (Bruce) Johnson, and Zakariah King; her siblings Barb Fitz, Diana Horvath, Jennifer Whitehead, and Vicki Carroll; her 19 cherished grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Carroll and Mary Fugitt.
