Kimball Brent Reeder, 66, of Strange Creek, passed away at home on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Born on May 8, 1959, in Braxton County to Nolen Brent Reeder and the late Dorothy Lee Hughes Reeder, Kimball possessed a strong work ethic that defined much of his life. For the last 28 years he worked as a mechanic at the tie yard and was currently employed at Appalachian Timber Services in Sutton. He found deep satisfaction in the company of his family, caring for his pets and farm animals, and spending time outdoors. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he particularly enjoyed foraging for seasonal native mushrooms during the warmer months.

Kimball was preceded in death by his mother, his son Brent Daniel Reeder, paternal grandparents Harold and Zella Putnam Reeder, and maternal grandparents Creston and Marjorie Young Hughes.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Westfall Reeder; daughters, Jessica Hacker and Rebecca Reeder; his only grandson, Tristan James Hacker; his father, Nolen Brent Reeder; brothers, John Reeder and Joey Reeder; sisters, Robin Reeder, Melissa Ice, and Abby Cutlip and her husband, Mike; uncles, Lowel “Peach” Reeder and Melvin Hughes; aunt, Nellie Carr; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Those who knew him will remember his quiet dedication to the people and land he loved.
