Kevin Wayne Watson Obituary March 7, 2026 - Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors

Kevin Wayne Watson, age 69, a lifetime resident of Hillsboro, sadly left our world on March 7, 2026. A member of the Church of Christ in Hillsboro, Kevin will be remembered for his kindness, work ethic, and dedication to family and friends.Kevin was born on December 18, 1956, to Kenneth Wayne and Nita Jean of Peoria. He graduated from Hillsboro High School, where he played football, basketball, baseball and track, before extending his education at Hill College.He spent many years working on the family farm and at Watson's Hardware and Gas Station until the family business closed. In recent years, he worked at Walmart. In his free time, Kevin enjoyed working on the family land tending to cows and working in his vegetable garden.Kevin was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Nita Watson, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.He is survived by his son Jacob Hight, brother Rodney Watson, sister Terrilyn Watson Wardlow and husband Guy; nephews Zach Miller and wife Karen, Kenny Watson and wife Annie, Davis Watson and wife Harlie; and great-nieces Kenna, Mila, McKenlie, Jersey, and Brenlie.In remembrance, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, from 6-8 pm at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, and the graveside service will be at 10 am on Wednesday, March 11, at the Peoria Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kevin's name, in honor of Brody Nelson, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.The family appreciates the thoughts and prayers of friends and loved ones.
