Kevin Patrick Travers Sr

Kevin Patrick Travers Sr. passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on December 24, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the youngest of three children and was predeceased by his two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Catherine J. Smith, their son Kevin Travers Jr., and Kevin’s wife Virginia (Doremus) Travers.

Kevin spent his early years in New York City, where he worked as a Manhattan taxi driver and held various other jobs. It was in Manhattan that he met Catherine, and in 1984 the couple moved to Rochester, New York. In Rochester, Kevin worked at a silver recovery plant and Kleenbrite Labs before running a small auto repair business from their home. He and Catherine shared a deep love for dogs and cared for many beloved pets over the years, including Samantha, Ruby, Onyx, Jade, and Pearl.

A private remembrance gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to Lollypop Farm or Verona Street Animal Shelter.
