Kevin Kane

East Wenatchee, WA

Kevin Kane, born November 17, 1954, in the Wenatchee Valley, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, following complications from a stroke.

Raised by Milo and Dolores Kane alongside his siblings on Denis Court in East Wenatchee, Kevin spent his childhood creating mischief and lasting memories with the neighborhood kids. It was at Lee Elementary that he first met Sue Perkins, who would become his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 46 years.

Kevin earned a degree in biology from Seattle University and built a career with the Department of Natural Resources, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. An avid conservationist, wildland firefighter, mycologist, scout leader, coach, and sportsman, he found his greatest joy in the roles of loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Kane; sons Travis (Dr. Sue), Kittrick (Hope), and Walker (Scout); grandsons Wyatt and Collin Kane; and siblings Scott (Sheila) and Susan (John). In keeping with the spirit of his life, those who loved him will remember him best by spending time on the public lands he worked so hard to protect and perhaps taking in a baseball game along the way. As his favorite author, Edward Abbey, wrote, “Life is too short for grief, or regret, or bullshit.”
