Kerry L. Dodson, a woman of deep faith and quiet strength, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on September 24, 1949, to Robert L. Brinkley and Cora L. Brinkley, she was raised in a loving family alongside her siblings Anthony Brinkley, Roger (Carmilla) Brinkley, Irene Wright, her twin brother Kent Brinkley, Lars Eric Brinkley, and Donna (William) Bradford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother Kent, Lars Eric Brinkley, Donna Bradford, and her husband, Tegarrett Dodson.
From an early age, Kerry gave her life to Christ and remained steadfast in her devotion throughout her years. Her faith guided every aspect of her life, shaping her character and her calling to serve others. She was a loving mother to her son, Kevin L. Dodson (Michelle) of Loganville, Georgia, and took great joy in her role as grandmother to Dezmond Dodson, Cierra Van, Mackenzie Dodson, and Kaleb Dodson. She was blessed to know her great-grandson, Octavious DuBoise-Dodson, and looked forward with joy to the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Serenity.
Before retiring, Kerry worked for many years at AT&T and the Indianapolis Star News. She also served as church secretary for Christ Church Apostolic and Greater Love Ministries, where her humility and dedication were widely felt. Her true passion was ministry. She founded and led The Fruits of the Spirit Ministries, focusing on prison ministry, serving the homeless, and mentoring young women. A gifted singer and worshipper, she served as a pastor and music minister, using her voice and leadership to draw others closer to God.
Kerry will be remembered as a woman of unwavering faith, compassion, and generosity who loved God deeply and lived her life in service to Him and to others. Her legacy of love and faithfulness continues through her family and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
