Kennon Wayne Reed Sr.

Kennon Wayne Reed Sr., 83, of Kent, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on March 11, 2026. Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, on February 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Richard and Mildred (Jones) Reed.

In addition to his parents, Kennon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice (Pittman) Reed, his son Kenneth White, his sisters Judith Sisk, Brenda Carico, and Diane (Charles) Lowery, and his brothers Gary Reed and Roger Reed.

He is survived by his loving children Judy Meredith, Michael White, Donna Reed, Kennon Reed Jr. (Patty), Roger Reed, Roger (Kathy) White, Terry (Heather) Reed, Ross (Tracy) Reed, and Rebecca (John) Dye; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; his siblings Rick (Pat) Reed and Blaine Reed; his sister-in-law Jill Reed; and his brother-in-law Tom Carico.

Kennon loved playing cards, visiting the casino, listening to music, and playing scratch-off lottery tickets. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, traveling with Janice, and teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish. He could spend hours on the shore with a fishing pole in his hand, his favorite place to be. He enjoyed sharing stories from his life, passing along the lessons he had learned through experience. Family gatherings brought him great joy, and he would spend days in the kitchen cooking, making sure both stomachs and hearts were full.
