Kennith "Kennie" Wayne Huffman

Kennith “Kennie” Wayne Huffman, 70, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

He grew up in Indianola and graduated from Indianola High School. As a boy, Kennie and his siblings spent many happy hours riding horses, competing in horse shows, and riding snowmobiles. The family enjoyed numerous vacations together, traveling to Yellowstone National Park, South Dakota, and Canada, where their father’s family lived, exploring many places along the way. After high school, Kennie purchased a motorcycle and traveled across the country. He lived for a time in California before settling in Des Moines, where he worked at Charles Gabus Ford. It was after returning to Des Moines that he met Patty Wagner, his significant other of 15 to 20 years.

Kennie is survived by his siblings, Judy (Kent) Huffman, Randy Huffman, and Barbara (Jim) Hoover; step-sister, Cherie (Larry) Warren; and step-brother, David Furnas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Patricia (Morgan) Huffman; his grandmother, Carmen (Huffman) Fee; his aunt, Jacque (Huffman) Outland; and his step-brother, Jimmy Furnas.
