Kenneth Fulk ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Ferguson Funeral Home - Plain City on Mar. 17, 2026.Kenneth "Kenny" William Fulk, age 97 of Plain City, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by family. Born June 11, 1928, Kenny lived his whole life in Plain City, residing in the same house on farmland where he grew up. The Fulk Family Farm received a commendation from the Department of Agriculture for being an Ohio Sesquicentennial Farm dating back to 1854.Kenny began his career owning his own business of Fulk Electric which lasted 30 years (contractor/electric/plumbing/heating). Soon after, he began a new venture of gas station equipment restoration which turned into a 15-year business as Economy Petroleum Equipment. Once retired with his mechanical mind, an automotive interest, and a love of farming, he began a path of restoring John Deere tractors. His "hobby" nurtured the idea of creating a one-fourth scale replica John Deere combine hand crafted from salvaged tractor parts, the design sketched out on a paper napkin. The combine project took two years and when completed was a crowd favorite in many parades and tractor shows around Ohio that he attended. Word of his efforts travelled all the way to the John Deere corporation in Iowa. John Deere management asked Kenny to bring his "one-of-a-kind" scale combine to the John Deere corporate equipment show. Later at the age of 96, he was asked to be the 2024 Miami Valley Steam Threshers Association Grand Marshall, where the combine was on full display. To quote the humble man, "Well now, that's quite an honor!"Kenny had a natural talent of being able to repair most anything and his shop was always busy with projects brought to him by friends and neighbors. His easy-going social demeanor also meant he never met a stranger, and always had time to chat. He loved having coffee with friends at Der Dutchman and making homemade ice cream, sharing stories while the paddles turned. Within the family, he assisted with hay bailing, was regarded as a card shark and an unassuming ping pong master, not to be taken lightly.Visitation will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home 202 East Main Street Plain City, Ohio 43064 on Thursday, March 19th from 5:00 PM – 8:00PM. A memorial service will take place on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church 6135 Rings Road Dublin, Ohio 43016. Family and friends are welcome beginning at 10:00AM, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00AM (lunch provided by St. John following the service). Interment will be held privately at Forest Grove Cemetery.Left to cherish his memory are daughters Darlene Becker (Jim), Donna Filson (Clay), granddaughters Julie Paige (Grant), Jill Wilson (Chris), Sierra Filson (Chris), and Hallie Filson.
