He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Rockler; his brother Rusty Rockler (Richard Elsberry); his parents, William Rockler and Helen Rockler; and his stepdaughter Lisa Record.

He is survived by: his son Josh Hodney (Nita); his brother Robert Rockler; his stepson Steve Nyrop (Michelle); his wife's son Ian DeShon (Hillary Mahoney); and his grandchildren, Dylan, Emily Hodney, Max Nyrop and Mariel (Jeremy Johnston).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Temple Israel (2323 Fremont Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55405).

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages people to make a donation to Braver Angels, who are leading the nation's largest cross-partisan, volunteer-led movement to bridge the partisan divide and strengthen the USA's democratic republic.
