Kenneth Richard Weller

January 2, 1960 March 9, 2026

St. Clair Shores, MI

Kenneth Richard Weller, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the age of 66, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 2, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan, to Richard Harry Weller and Alice Joyce (Rumney) Weller, Kenneth was the oldest of four children and naturally took on the role of protector and supporter for his family, qualities that defined him throughout his life. He met the love of his life, Lillian Nasiadko, at a local bar, and they married on September 27, 1980, at St. Bartholomew Church in Detroit. Their forty-five-year marriage was built on loyalty, laughter, and deep family bonds.

Kenneth dedicated more than thirty-five years to the National Chili Company, working in several roles before retiring as a food processor and prep worker. He took pride in his work and the relationships he formed there. Above all, he cherished his family. He was endlessly supportive, always available to those who needed him, and found his greatest joy in his two sons, John and Mike. He faithfully attended their hockey and baseball games and later delighted in his role as grandfather to Avery, Jack, Zac, Tyler, Elliana, and Baby Weller. He loved the outdoors, particularly camping trips, backyard barbecues, bonfires, and quiet morning drives along Lakeshore Drive.

A passionate sports fan, Kenneth followed the Michigan State Spartans, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Red Wings. He enjoyed collecting license plates from all fifty states, watching classic westerns, and was a lifelong admirer of John Wayne. Known for his humor, charisma, and big personality, he loved telling stories, giving out nicknames, and making people feel welcome and valued. He will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and generous heart.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Lillian Weller; sons, John (Sara) Weller and Mike (Michele) Weller; grandchildren, Avery, Jack, Zac, Tyler, Elliana, and Baby Weller; siblings, Edward Weller, Lynn (James) Basara, and Ann (Philip) Martin; brother-in-law, Stanley (Maryann) Nasiadko; nieces and nephews, Julia Basara, Eva (Nick) Kohon with Johnathan and Chloe, Brian (Mandy) Nasiadko, Nina (Marty) Godard, Amy (Russell) Pit-Og, and Lana (Mike) Baker; cat companion Bigfoot Kitty; and many great nieces, great nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard H. and Alice J. Weller, and sister-in-law, Christine (Jim) Harding.
