Kenneth L. "Kenny" Baker was born on March 11, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio. In 1950 his family moved to Westerly, Rhode Island, where he was raised alongside his three sisters, Carol, Linda, and Bonnie. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island in 1968, Kenny moved to the Detroit area, where he built a long and successful career in sales and started his family with fellow Westerly native Karen Baker (Singer).
In 2005, Kenny married his second wife, Mary (Kenrick), and they shared 17 years together until her passing in April 2022. Known to his many friends as "Bakes" or "Shake n' Bake," Kenny was a devoted Michigan football fan, a passionate golfer, and the life of every gathering. A lifetime member of Meadowbrook Country Club, he was constantly refining his swing and spent winters in Naples, Florida, to keep playing year-round. He held season tickets at Michigan Stadium for more than 30 years, toured renowned golf courses from California to Scotland, and lived each day on his own terms with unmistakable joy and independence.
Kenny passed away in Novi, Michigan, the day before his 84th birthday. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary. He is survived by his sisters Carol, Linda, and Bonnie, his children Robin Lukason (Dave) and Justin, and his grandson Evan Patzert.
