Kenneth Fernandes

Kenneth Fernandes, 88, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey, and Bhopal, India, passed away on March 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in India on December 1, 1937, to the late Victor and Piadade Fernandes, Ken was married for 42 years to his beloved wife Philomena Fernandes, who predeceased him. He is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, Caroline Fernandes and John Cardwell of Downingtown, and Christine Fernandes and Christopher Pielli of West Chester, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Angelina. He is also survived by his siblings Philomena Vaz and Albin Fernandes, and many nieces and nephews living across the world. He was predeceased by his sister Catherine Vaz.

Ken was a humble, kind, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. As the deeply respected patriarch of his family, he led with quiet strength and wisdom. He found joy in spending time with family and friends, cooking spicy Indian food, playing soccer, traveling, and gardening. A man of strong faith, he attended Mass daily and, with his family, had the privilege of meeting and being blessed by Mother Teresa in Bhopal. He worked in the transportation and shipping industry throughout his career.
