He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne S. Getty and Margaret Getty (Phillips); his brother Donald "Tango" Getty; his in-laws, James and Dorothy Rice; and his grandchild Angel Bocz.

He is survived by: his wife Denise Getty (Rice); his children, Sandy Getty (Norb Kuta) of Pittsburgh, PA, John Getty (Elizabeth) of Georgia, Shelly Getty of Tennessee, Farrah Hankinson (Eric) of Indiana, PA, Melissa Bocz (Dave) of Lucernemines, PA and Briana Abel (Joe); his grandchildren, Chasity (Matt), Cage, John Paul (Ema), Cobe, Ian, Calen, Peyton, Declan, Camry, Hunter and Alden; his great grandchild John Wayne; his siblings, Hazel Stephens, Robert Getty, Margaret "Peg" Leipper, Linda Getty (Gary) and James Getty (Sharon); his brothers-in-law, Scott Rice (Lek) and Bruce Rice (Candi); and his pet Poppy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bowser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. (4606 Old US 119 Hwy S, Homer City, PA 15748). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 11:45 AM at the Oakland Cemetery (845 Rose St, Indiana, PA 15701).
