Ken Cossin

Ken Cossin, age 93, was born on September 14, 1932, to Helen Mae Backus and George Washington Cossin, and passed away on March 6, 2026, at home. Known affectionately as Pops, he was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Keith Alan Cossin, who was born December 27, 1967, and died August 22, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Clara “Betty” Cossin, his daughter Debbie, his son Ken Jr., and six grandchildren.

A master carpenter from a young age, Ken worked alongside his father laying brick and honing his craft. He found joy in listening to Southern Gospel and Bluegrass music, turning wood on his lathe with quiet creativity, and tending to cars or sitting by the firepit. Many will remember him best in his rocker on the front porch, a steady presence grounded in deep faith and quiet strength.

Pops lived a long, productive, and loving life. He will be deeply missed by his family, who know he was welcomed by his son Keith and other loved ones who went before him.
