Keith Lamar Tripp

Draper, UT

Keith Lamar Tripp 1938-2026 Draper, Utah-Our incredible dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, Keith Lamar Tripp, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026, surrounded by family. After a long journey with Parkinson's, Dad faced life the way an old cowboy would-head up, a smile on his face, and always ready with a joke to put others at ease. Dad was born in Murry, Utah. He learned the value of hard work early, joining his father in the construction business in his early teens. He never chased riches-his pride was in building homes filled with love, where families could make lifelong memories. Dad was full of wisdom and a steady source of guidance for all of us. His advice was honest, simple, and always given with love. He deeply loved his children and shared a beautiful 50-year marriage with the love of his life, Saundra, guided by his favorite marriage tip: "Just say yes, dear." A lifelong horseman, Dad served with the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Posse and on the Days of '47 Parade Committee. He was also a state judge for horse shows, restored wagons, and encouraged young riders through 4-H. His faith was quiet but strong, and his kindness unforgettable. When he wasn't with horses, you could find him reading three to five books a week or sharing stories from his younger days with his grandkids. Dad's legacy lives on in the homes he built, the horses he loved, and the family who adored the old cowboy. We know he is joyfully reunited with Saundra, holding her just as he longed to do. Our heartfelt thanks go to his "Ladies" from Valeo Home Health and Hospice, whose compassion and love meant the world to our family. He is survived by his children: Scott L. Nicols; Chet R. Nichols (Patty); Tracy Tripp (Sarah); Jackie Tripp (Robert); Jodie Carter (Bill); and Lori Fox, along with 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
