Kayla Jane Williams

Kayla Jane Williams, age 42 of New Albany, passed away on March 11, 2026. Daughter of the late Johnny Laine Williams, Kayla was raised with a compassionate spirit that naturally drew others to her. For more than twenty years, she proudly served as co-owner and operator of Advance Child Care, where she poured her heart into the lives of countless children and families. A true caregiver at heart, “KK” delighted in nurturing young minds, watching the little ones grow, learn, and blossom into their own unique personalities. With her warm smile, gentle guidance, and patient spirit, she made every child feel safe, loved, and like they truly belonged. To many families, she was far more than a caregiver—she was a steady presence and a trusted friend.

Kayla carried an adventurous soul that longed to explore the beauty of the world around her. She loved traveling and cherished time spent outdoors, soaking in the warmth of the sun while hiking, kayaking, or fishing. Nature brought her peace, and she found joy in the quiet wonder of the earth’s beauty. A gifted and imaginative artist, Kayla was rarely without a sketchpad or canvas nearby. She loved to draw, paint, and create, capturing the people, places, and moments that meant the most to her. Her art was another way she shared her heart with the world.

Above all else, Kayla loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Loretta Jane Williams; her devoted life partner, Miranda Downing; two sisters, Tina Sceifers (Richard) and Tiffany Veit (Richard); her precious goddaughter, Royalty Drones; nieces and nephews, Hannah Veit (Chad Hartell), Cooper Veit, and Bailey Veit (Ashleigh); great-nieces, Sloane and Winona; great-nephew, Wyatt; and her faithful dog, Duke.

Though her time here feels far too short, Kayla’s loving spirit lives on in the many lives she touched, the children she helped guide, the art she created, and the memories shared by all who knew her. Those who knew and loved Kayla will forever carry her warmth, her laughter, and the gentle light she brought into their lives.
