Born on June 22, 1966, in Anniston, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Benny Ray Easterwood and Emogene Bible Easterwood of Anniston, Alabama. Kathy lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and a passion for the things that brought her joy.
Kathy was a devoted wife to her husband of 30 years, Chris Taylor of Lilburn, Georgia. Her immediate family includes mother, Emogene Bible Easterwood of Anniston, Alabama; siblings, Lisa Easterwood Ogle and her husband Warren of Prattville, Alabama; Thomas Easterwood and his wife Deanne of Robertsdale, Alabama; Sherrie Franklin and her husband Bruce of Powder Springs, Georgia; and Chris Easterwood and his wife Connie of Carrollton, Georgia. Kathy’s family circle extended to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She loved to cook, finding joy in creating healthy, nutritious meals that brought people together. Her enthusiasm for travel allowed her to explore new places and cultures, enriching her perspective and experiences. Kathy's career was another source of pride and accomplishment, reflecting her commitment and professionalism. She was also a dedicated cat lover, finding companionship and comfort in her feline friends.
The community will honor Kathy’s memory with a visitation Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, Georgia. Following this, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia 31907.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Atlanta Humane Society 1551 Perry Blvd NW Atlanta, GA 30318.
