Renee White Guthrie, 65, of Clovis, New Mexico passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on March 8, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. The daughter of Wayne and Kathy White, Renee was born on December 24, 1960. Renee graduated from Coronado High School in 1979.
Renee married the love of her life, Ronnie Guthrie, November 14, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas. They lived in Lubbock, Wimberley, and Bovina, Texas before making their home in Clovis, New Mexico.
Renee was an avid horse lover who enjoyed riding, play days, and sharing her passion with others. She was a dedicated supporter of rodeos, working with Clovis’ Pioneer Days Rodeo and the New Mexico State Fair Rodeo, coordinating mutton bustin’ and flags; in addition to mentoring many young women into becoming rodeo queens, teaching them the many skills needed to accomplish the task, including knowledge of the rodeo industry, public speaking, horsemanship, and more. Beyond horses and rodeos, Renee enjoyed helping her kids with FFA, showing livestock, and helping one of her many friends across the world.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Guthrie of Clovis, NM; son, Dustin Martin and wife Jennifer, of Lubbock, TX; son, Bryan Martin and wife Kalli, of Floydada, TX; daughter, Deanne Guthrie; son, Rhett Guthrie; a step-son Ronnie Lee Guthrie; a brother, Brad White and wife Sheila of Lubbock, TX; brothers-in-law Billy Guthrie and wife Tina of New Braunfels, TX and Jeff Guthrie of Chandler, TX; three sisters-in-law, Leslie Roberts and husband Terry of Portales, NM, Ann Marie Jones and husband Joey McClanahan of Littlefield, TX and Heather Duff and husband Parker of Lubbock, TX; four granddaughters Kimber Guthrie, Reina and Arly Martin, and McKenzie Martin; grandson, Levi Guthrie; and her stepmother-in-law, Patsy Guthrie of Littlefield, TX. In addition, Renee is also survived by several nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Kathy White; father-in-law, John Guthrie; and mother-in-law, Carolyn Pruitt.
The family would like to thank Renee’s lifelong best friend, Rehj Hoeffner for her loving care and hospitality while Renee sought treatment in Lubbock, TX.
A memorial service honoring Renee’s life will be held on March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway Lubbock, TX 79401.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to the Curry County Mounted Patrol for the Clovis Pioneer Rodeo Queen Contest.
