She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.A graduate of Northern High School in Durham, North Carolina, Kathryne dedicated herself to the nursing profession, working as a Licensed Practical Nurse until 1996 after graduating from Durham Technical Community College. Her compassion and dedication to caring for others were evident throughout her career.Kathryne found immense joy in spending time with her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She cherished every moment with them and took great pride in their accomplishments. Her love for the outdoors was well-known; she found peace and happiness at the beach, in her garden, and through various DIY projects that showcased her creativity and zest for life.She is preceded in death by her father, Hubert Larry Shaw.She is survived by her loving family: her son, Brandon Powell, and her daughter, Oliva Powell. Her cherished grandchildren, Brystel Cadence Powell, Chief Nolan Powell, Wednesday Rose Powell, and Kaelyn Adriana Stewart, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.Kathryne is also survived by her devoted mother, Brenda Baldwin, and her stepfather, John Henry Bost Jr. Her siblings, Jeffrey Scott Shaw, John Henry Bost III, and April Nipper, along with her dear Aunt Katherine Baldwin, mourn her passing and celebrate the life and love she shared with them.Kathryne's legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire those who knew her.
