Kathryn M. "Katie" Hood

Kathryn M. “Katie” Hood, age 74, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 28, 1951, in Adrian, Michigan, to the late Colin and Janet Campbell, she married the love of her life, Harvey Hood, on May 25, 1991. Together they shared many devoted years of marriage grounded in deep faith and quiet kindness.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Katie lived with a genuine heart for others and often expressed that her mission was to make Heaven crowded. She served faithfully at Living Word Fellowship Church and never missed an opportunity to share the love of Jesus. She found joy in simple things—walking with friends, reading, and cherishing time with family. For many years she worked in the lunchroom at New Haven Public Schools, becoming a familiar and caring presence to generations of students before her retirement.

Katie is survived by her beloved husband, Harvey Hood Jr.; her brother, Colin “Mac” Campbell of Zellwood, Florida; Walter Campbell of New Baltimore; her stepchildren, Harvey Hood III (Jennifer) and Tiffany Cook (Joshua); and her cherished grandchildren, Tommy, Ella, Maggie, RaeAnn, and Ezekiel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Janet and Colin Campbell; her son, Robert E. Brush Jr.; her sister, Patricia Campbell; and her brother, Bruce Campbell.
