1939 — 2026

Lufkin, TX

Kathryn Lee Selph, 87, of Lufkin, passed away on March 15, 2026. Born on February 8, 1939, in Jasper, Texas, to Bowman Toney and Effie (Byerly) Kaemmerling, she lived a life marked by independence, hard work, and deep devotion to her family.

She was an entrepreneur who owned and operated her own business in the Lufkin area for more than twenty years before entering the insurance field. She continued working well into her seventies, finding genuine fulfillment in her work and in serving others. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed reading, preparing wonderful meals, and watching her beloved John Wayne films. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her faith in Christ.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Selph; her parents; sons Dennis Bridges and Randy Bridges; brothers Jack Westberry and Robert Westberry; and great-grandson Kade Jackson.

She is survived by her son, John Alton Bridges, Jr. of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Bert Lindsey of Streetman, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Cliff Morgan of Lufkin; granddaughters and grandsons Tonja and Clint Jackson of Nacogdoches, Clark and Emily Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Trey and Tasha Bridges of Broaddus, Kevin and Chell Bridges of San Antonio, Holly and Wade Julian of Huntsville, Ashley Bridges of Huntington, and Millie Bridges of Huntington; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
