Kathryn Doughty ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Peterson Chapel – St. Michael on Feb. 27, 2026.Kathryn Lee Doughty (Bucy), age 73 of St. Michael, MN, passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 25, 2026, after an eight-year courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.Kathy was preceded in death by parents, Calvin and Mary Bucy, and brother in-law Gary Stenberg.Survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Patrick; Children Bryan (Heather), and Sarah (Charlie) Gaebler; Grandchildren Sam, and Megan; siblings Julie Bucy, Mary Jane (Randy) Jarvi, Patty (Darwin) Schulz, Mike Bucy; Godsons Jesse Jarvi, and Corey Whiteford; and many relatives and good friends.Kathy was born on a US Army base in La Rochelle, France to parents Calvin and Mary Bucy, as Calvin was stationed there for 36 months.She attended school at Ascension Catholic School in North Minneapolis, where she met her husband, Patrick Doughty.Kathy was a hardworking and dedicated employee wherever she worked in her business career. It started when she was old enough to babysit the neighborhood children in the summer, working at the Ascension Church Rectory, and working at a local dry cleaner's shop.After graduating from Saint Anthony High School in Northeast Minneapolis, she attended the Minnesota School of Business, specializing in being a legal secretary. After completing business school, Kathy worked for two legal firms for several years and retired from Xcel Energy as a claims manager for 25 years.Kathy married Patrick Doughty in 1972, at Ascension Catholic Church.Three years later, Kathy and Pat welcomed their first born, son Bryan Patrick. Their second born, Sarah Rosemary, came along two years later. They were the light of her life.Son Bryan, and his wife Heather, blessed Kathy and Pat with grandchildren Sam and Megan. They brought such joy to her life.Her enjoyments were following her children and grandchildren's sporting events, time spent with family, golfing, traveling, card games, Bingo, summers at the lake, fishing, swimming, and time on their pontoon.Kathy was deeply loved by all and will always be present in our hearts.Memorial Service being held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 12:00 pm – The Peterson Chapel, 300 Main Street North, St. Michael, MN 55376 with visitation from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm prior to service.
