Kathleen R. (Wintermute) LUNDY
April 19, 1947— February 24, 2026
Spokane, WA
Apr 19, 1947 - Feb 24, 2026Kathie's Motto: "The best times are always found when friends and family gather round." It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our sister and aunt, Kathie Lundy. Kathie passed away on February 24, 2026, at the Hospice House of Spokane after a long battle with cancer. Kathie was born on April 19, 1947, to Bob and Janette Wintermute. In 1965, Kathie graduated from California High School in Whittier, California. After graduation, she moved to Spokane, Washington, where she attended Spokane Community College. Kathie married Paul Lundy in 1983. They lived in a rustic cabin on Mt. Spokane, which they loved. It was considered by all to be a great adventure to visit them there. They then moved to North Spokane, where they remained until their deaths. The words you hear most when describing Kathie are loving, kind, generous, supportive, and always up for a good time. Kathie rode a Harley for several years (which fit her personality) and loved camping with Paul in their tent trailer. Kathie worked at American Sign & Indicator Corporation as an Electro-Mechanical Assembler from approximately 1970 to 1985. Kathie then went on to work for the State of Washington, Department of Corrections, first as a Corrections Officer and then as part of the Work Release Program. Kathie received numerous awards during her career due to her excellent work ethic. Kathie retired in 2015. Kathie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lundy, and her parents, Bob and Janette Wintermute. Kathie's spirit lives on through her two sisters, Pat (Jerry) Husband of Quincy, and Geri (Mike) Burt of Shelton, along with her nieces and nephews, Kris, Cassie, Rob, Jena, McKenna, Darrick, Wade, Tevon, Sam, Callie, Emma, and Ben. To honor Kathie's request, there will not be a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, and for anyone who wishes to, please make a donation in Kathie's name to Hospice House of Spokane, 367 E. 7th Avenue, Spokane, WA 99202.
