Kathleen “Wimpy” Mae Clutter, 91, of Webster Springs, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Webster County Memorial Hospital.
Born on July 5, 1934, along Elk River to the late Okey and Edna McCourt Clutter, Wimpy was a homemaker who took great joy in caring for her family. She was especially known for her fried chicken legs and found pleasure in sewing, gardening, canning, watching and feeding the birds, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She also cherished time spent at Polly’s camp, sitting by the fire and roasting hot dogs.
Wimpy loved listening to her nephew David play music and treasured moments with her family and friends. She and her husband, Dana, enjoyed traveling throughout Webster and surrounding counties to attend church services, gospel sings, and square dances. Wherever music was playing, they were sure to be found. A devout Christian, she was a longtime member of Bergoo Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dana Clutter; her sister, Arlene Lowther; her brother, Harlon Clutter; and her niece, Shelby Clevenger. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Charlotte (Sonny) Helmick of Bergoo; Carolyn Allman, Donna (Frank) Murello, Patsy (Randy) McCoy, and Dewayne (Tammy) Lowther, all of Parcoal; Vicki Clutter of Webster Springs, Rick (Pam) Clutter of Webster Springs, Polly (Donzil) Quinn of Hacker Valley, Sally (Ralph) Tanner, Sylvia (Leroy) Green, David Clutter (Adria Moffatt), Dink (Wendy) Clutter, and Rusty (Kimberly) Conrad, all of Webster Springs; honorary granddaughter Emmie Hawkins; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
