Kathleen Lee Muir

March 25, 1954 March 5, 2026

Wesley Chapel, FL

Kathleen Lee Muir of Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born to Phyllis Sliney and Robert E. Lee of Framingham, Massachusetts, she grew up as a Girl Scout and later served as a neighborhood director for Tierra del Sol. She graduated from Bishop D.J. O’Connell High School in 1972, earned an Associate of Arts and Associate of Education from the University of South Florida, and returned to school later in life to complete her Master’s in Education in 2001.

Kathy dedicated nearly forty years to teaching middle school special needs students at Bartels, Memorial, Liberty, and Weightman Middle Schools. Her work profoundly impacted the lives of countless students and fellow teachers. Teaching was her greatest passion, yet she also made time for music, art, and nature. She reconnected with her violin and learned to play the ukulele, guitar, banjo, cajón, and washboard bass. An accomplished artist, she created beautiful watercolors and wood-burned pieces, along with cherished scrapbooks and shadow boxes. She found joy in reading, gardening, laughing with friends, and caring for her beloved bird.

She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Muir and spouse Victoria Albert; her brother, Rob Lee and Deirdre Enright-Lee, and their children Brennan, Pearse, Saoirse, and Maire; her brother-in-law James Stratton and his children Patrick and Matthew Stratton; her sister-in-law Diane Muir; and her brother-in-law Michael Muir and his children Brandon and Megan Muir, along with their Grand Dog Gary and Grand Cat Rose.

She was preceded in death by her spouse Christopher Muir, Charles Engelbreck, her sisters Therese Stratton and Maureen Lee, her brother Patrick Lee, her brother-in-law Ken Muir, and her sister-in-law Leslie Muir.
