Kathie Joyce McDonald

Kathie Joyce McDonald, 67, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. She was born on October 31, 1958, to Blake and Elma Cummons, who preceded her in death.

Kathie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a proud Mimi. She had a warm spirit and a caring heart that touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy McDonald; her daughters, Kim and her husband Tommy, and Erica and her husband Terry. Kathie was a proud Mimi to Austin and his wife, Izzy, Addison, Reagan, Gracyn, Gavin, Olivia, and Jax. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Luka and Lillian.

She is also survived by her siblings, Trish Morgan, Mike Cummons, and Vickie Long. In addition to her parents, Kathie was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Kathie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, kindness, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Gracepointe Church, 3000 E. McKinney Street, Denton, Texas 76209. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate Kathie’s life.
