Katherine Mary Taylor

Katherine Mary Taylor, age 85, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Born on December 16, 1940, at home in Council Bluffs to the late Phillip and Elizabeth (Batten) Massouris, Katherine contracted polio at a young age and spent nine months in an iron lung. She never allowed the effects of that illness to limit her, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960 and going on to build a full and determined life.

In 1966 she married Michael B. Taylor, and together they raised three children. The couple created countless memories at their cabin in North Bend and cherished time spent with family and friends. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Taylor, and her sons, Brent Taylor and Shawn Taylor. She is survived by her son, Phillip (Carleen) Taylor of Council Bluffs, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Katherine will be laid to rest beside her husband at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
