Katherine Feindel Hoover

1968 — 2026

Greenville, SC

Katherine Feindel Hoover, a devoted mother, community advocate, and creative spirit, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, she grew up with a natural curiosity and warmth that shaped both her professional life and her deep commitment to those around her. She attended Stone Mountain High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism.

Katherine built a successful career in marketing, spending many years in children’s marketing with McDonald’s, where she developed engaging programs for families and coordinated regional Ronald McDonald initiatives. Later, she founded and operated her own company, Hoover Event Marketing. Her impact reached well beyond her professional work. An active member of the Junior League, she played a key role in bringing The Children’s Museum of the Upstate from vision to reality. She also served on the board of the Ronald McDonald House and gave generously of her time to civic organizations, church activities, school volunteer work, and many other causes in her beloved city of Greenville, South Carolina.

Above all, Katherine’s greatest joy was being a mother to her four children. She poured her heart into nurturing each child’s unique gifts and passions, celebrating every milestone with warmth and intention. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, fun-loving nature, and servant’s heart, and for her remarkable ability to bring people together and make those around her feel deeply loved.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Steve Hoover; her children, Mary Allison Bertling (Ryan), Alex Hoover, Camille Hoover, and Zachary Hoover; and her beloved grandchild, Owen Bertling. She is also survived by her mother, Marie McIntyre; her stepmother, Susan Feindel; her brother, Richard Feindel Jr. (Gretchen) and their daughter, Stella; and her sister, Elizabeth Feindel (Charlie). She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Feindel Sr., and her stepfather, John Gambs.
