Katherine Ellen Kitzman

Katherine "Kathy" Ellen Kitzman, 90, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 5, 2026. She was born on September 10, 1935, in Wauwatosa, WI, the daughter of Claire and Marie (Fox) Winslow.Katherine was raised by her paternal grandmother, growing up on a farm in Scales Mound, IL. She graduated from high school in 1953 and moved to Rockford, IL, to attend Rockford School of Business. She retired from Atwood Mobile products in 1996 after 26 years.She was a long-standing member of Grace Lutheran Church, and a dedicated Packer fan. She enjoyed family gatherings, visiting with friends, reading, watching TV and in the last few months became quite the bingo player!She had a contagious smile that could light up the room and loved laughing with others. Her generous soul, spunky attitude and quick-witted jokes will never be forgotten.Katherine is survived by her children: Steven Hollaway, Terry Hollaway, Kathy (Stan) Grable, Bonnie Schultz, Dan (Sue) Hollaway, Peggy (Kirk) Rasmussen, Randy (Tammy) Kitzman, and Sheryl Hollaway; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; plus many extended family and friends. Predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Laverne Kitzman; her parents; three siblings; and daughter, Vickie Boyer. The family would like to thank the staff at TLC Living Community, Heartland Hospice and Home Instead for their wonderful care and support.A celebration of life and luncheon will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Roscoe VFW, 11385 2nd Street, Roscoe, IL 61073, beginning at 1 pm. Cremation rites accorded. A private inurnment will be in Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, WI. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Loves Park, IL.
